Role overview
This is a Database Manager role to manage, develop, and maintain VSO’s supporter and donations database systems. This is a crucial role in embedding the use of data to deliver insight that drives decision making, in the UK and globally.
You’ll be joining us at an exciting time. We’ve just upgraded to Raiser’s Edge NXT and are in the process of implementing BlueVenn Unify and Engage to improve our supporter engagement and insight activities. These tools, along with a comprehensive team development programme will enable us to considerably scale up the breadth of our work within VSO and the number of people in poverty we’re able to help.

You’ll have a strong background in sequel server database management, ETL, and SQL, with a passion for driving continuous improvement, especially with regard to data quality and the accuracy and efficiency of processes. In addition, you will enjoy leading and developing a high performing team within the wider Data & Insight team.
At VSO we believe progress is only possible by working together. Whether you want to join us as an employee, or as a volunteer working in your own country, overseas or online, our selection process includes an assessment based on these core competencies:
- Ability to be open-minded and respectful
- Ability to be resilient and adaptive to new situations
