Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) is an international development charity with a vision for a “world without poverty” and a mission to “bring people together to fight poverty”. VSO recruits professionals to work as volunteers, living and working alongside local populations in developing countries. VSO was founded in 1958, and currently works in 23 countries in Africa, Asia and the Pacific.
VSO started work in Rwanda in 1998 at the invitation of the Government of Rwanda and it focuses on programmes in Education, disability and youth/national volunteering. Role overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate EOC Specialist at VSO for the newly launched Polio programme
We are looking for experienced persons who will work closely with the leadership team to implement and manage the activities and deliverables of the core project team at a specific location
Skills, qualifications, and experience
Competencies and Behaviour
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to inspire teams and partners
- Strong personal relationship skills with substantial experience in networking and influencing a diverse range of stakeholders
- Graduate degree in a relevant course of study including but not limited to public health/epidemiology, biomedical sciences, business public administration, international development.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and/or French (additional language abilities particularly African languages are welcome)
