REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TO PRODUCE A DOCUMENTARY FILM
1. Background
The Legal Aid Forum (LAF) is a national civil society network of legal aid providers
(comprising of 38 member organizations including national and international NGOs, trade
unions, professional bodies, and university legal aid clinics) working
towards the vision of a Rwanda where the indigent and vulnerable groups have equitable access to justice, with the mission to promote and support the provision of accessible and quality legal aid services.
To evaluate its activities and document reality, LAF intends to produce a documentary film with the purpose to cover stories of beneficiaries of LAF interventions and highlight how legal aid services have impacted their lives. The activities to be documented include projects implementation under the Legal Aid Civil Society Fund (LACSF), paralegals’ community services, Legal Aid to Refugees, legal representation to SGBV victims, and land/expropriation.
2. Expected results and/or deliverables
- An inception note/script indicating the structure of the documentary – presented and agreed on with LAF
- An interview guide to be used to maintain the same content of the individuals’ stories (designed in collaboration with LAF team)
- Field visits (at least 10 sites) to meet LAF beneficiaries
- A master file of the documentary i.e. the raw data of covered stories (soft copy)
- A DVD and soft copy of a 45 minutes documentary with subtitles in English
- A DVD and soft copy of 5 short documentaries of about 5 minutes that will be determined basing on interventions covered
- An album of photos of LAF beneficiaries and their soft copy.

Timeline
The assignment will be done within 1 month starting from the day of signing the contract.
